We have a limited number of English Leicester ewes that will be available after scanning in lamb to our top Valais Blacknose rams!

Valais Blacknose New Zealand Society (under the NZ Sheepbreeders Association) can support your breeding up programme by recording pedigrees of your animals as well as many other benefits. More details soon on the Society being formed.

March 2018 UPDATE

Valais Blacknose New Zealand are very pleased to be able to offer a natural mating service for your ewes this season. For a one-off service fee per ewe inclusive of on-farm grazing costs, you can bring your ewes to our young rams! Service available in the lower North Island and in the Upper South Island.

We are offering a scanned in-lamb guarantee which means that if your ewes do not scan as carrying at least one lamb then we will return her to our ram at no extra cost. Transport and scanning costs not included. Some minimum health vaccinations are also required before ewes arrive on farm.

Or for those with ewes a little far away to travel then, we will be offering semen straws from our rams from May onward.

You could start your breeding up programme for Valais Blacknose sheep this season and have lambs on the ground in September! And we offer a free advice service to answer any of your questions and a guarantee of unrelated semen or rams for your successive generations.

We are in the early stages of our breeding programme and hope to have lambs, embryos and semen available in 2019 for the New Zealand and International market.

We are working with the authorities to be able to export to Australia and the USA. Currently, only semen can be imported into the USA. The conditions for import of genetic material into Australia are too stringent to import Valais at present. Hopefully, that will change in the future, any updates will be clearly posted on our Facebook page and on this website.

We anticipate having a limited number of embryos available by August 2018, this will give some hope to US breeders who have been unable to import embryos from the UK.

Potentially, we are expecting purebred lambs on the ground in the US by February 2019.  All updates will be posted on Facebook and the Availability page on the website.

It is currently possible to export to some countries, please contact us for more details.
